ROSE & THE BASS ALBUM RELEASE ‘FUNKADELIC’
Rosan Asmussen, ook bekend als ‘Rose & the Bass’, is een jonge vrouwelijke bassist uit Amsterdam. Na haar debuutrelease ‘An African Tale’, opgenomen met lokale muzikanten in Mozambique, is ze nu klaar om haar nieuwste album ‘Funkadelic’ te onthullen in de Nieuwe Anita. Dit concert is ook meteen de kick-off voor haar tour door Europa samen met neo-soulartiest Simone Don. Geïnspireerd door Marcus Miller, Prince, Daft Punk en Level 42, brengt de nieuwe muziek van Rosan een eerbetoon aan het gouden tijdperk van de funk. Reken maar op veel slap bass-geweld en jaren‘80-sounds tijdens dit concert samen met haar Amsterdamse muziekvrienden.

Emerging in the Amsterdam jazz scene, Simone Don developed her unique sultry and edgy vocals with compelling melodies and infusions of neo soul, jazz and RnB. She sings about her adventures and personal growth, reflects upon the world and seduces you to get carried away in her lust for the good life and rich fantasy, with a bitter humorous edge of reality. Her most important influences are Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote, Masego and Amy Winehouse. She performs with her band or solo and produces music under her own company Blabla sounds.
