THE COVIDS
The Covids from Amsterdam play you some very contagious punk rock! The band started during the first pandemic lockdown in The Netherlands,
so they decided to take the name “The Covids” as a badge of honour. Some of their live shows which were planned in this period were postponed 13(!) times because of ongoing restrictions. But in the fall of 2021 they finally exploded onto the stage with fire and fury. Their love for ’77 punkrock and more pop-oriented styles result in a unique and irresistible sound: catchy, raw and energetic. Singer Mehdi is a frenetic frontman with muscular melodies backed by a powerhouse drummer (Sid), slashing guitar riffs (Paul) and guttural bass lines (Bruno). In their short existence, the band took the Dutch undeground scene and festival circuit by storm and has also toured in Germany, France, Spain and the UK. They’ve released several digital EP’s + two vinyl singles and an album on Wap Shoo Wap Records. The band is currently working on their second album, set to be released
early 2025.
