Dit jaar viert het vijftal This Leo Sunrise zijn 20-jarig bestaan. Ze staan bekend om hun delicate, door folk beïnvloede rock en experimentele instrumentatie. Het vierde album “…and still return…” (2026) is een dubbel LP die twee decennia muzikale evolutie documenteert. De nummers zijn live opgenomen met een maximum-van-drie-takes-regel in een oud jachthuis in de Limburgse bossen. De band tourde veelvuldig in het buitenland en verzorgde voorprogramma’s van gerenommeerde acts als Damien Jurado, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Low Anthem, Willard Grant Conspiracy en Esmerine en nam een sessie op voor VPRO Dwars.

Hester‘s indie-rock ballads are a sonic testimony that softness and strength go hand in hand. Whilst promoting soft-activism, Hester turns grieving music into something uplifting, with enchanting falsettos, cinematic guitars and the occasional punk punch. “Softness is not surrender, it is resistance!” For fans of Tamino, Gorillaz and Agnes Obel.
