Acoustic Release: Nina Bearfoot – Live d.rafts w/ Simon Stuij & Pacco Fanti
NINA BEARFOOT
Is a French singer-songwriter based in Amsterdam, who just completed the production of her first solo album Life d.rafts, together with producer Sean Gascoigne.
Life d.rafts is made of contrasts (failures and successes, affection and rejection, happiness and sadness, calm and anger), those which are necessary hesitations to define an identity: it tells a story of the steps one takes to understand what they want. The album sits between indie and folk with a rock twist, always in the middle, never in the right place. The atmosphere is bright and tormented, and irony is the glue that sometimes holds these dimensions together. Between the lines, the album is also decidedly feminist, through a quest for female affirmation, self-value, and radical decisions.
SIMON STUIJ

PACO FANTI
Hailing from the long Brazilian tradition of avant-garde pop/folk songwriters, Pacco Fanti blends completely disparate aesthetics and influences in an alluring, seamless package. Tin Pan Alley, Brill Building, Motown, Sunshine Pop, Bubblegum and No Wave gets thrown together with the World Music-verse of Boleros, Bossa Novas, Calypsos, the semiotic songs from the Tropicália Movement, Tom Zé, Grupo Capote and the modern folk from Pessoal Do Ceará, Udigrúdi and Os Novos Baianos.
Pop lyricism is elevated to high poetry status without losing the magic of either discipline. The productions are often more lo-fi, with Brazilian percussions, proxy bass and baroque bassoon.”
