Martin’s Monthly Pencil Parlour is a monthly live model drawing workshop. Bring your own materials!

Every month, Martin Draax picks a new theme and invites a model who poses in dynamic action poses. These could be dancers, cosplayers, or athletes, for example. Sometimes nude, sometimes in costume. Always tasteful. The most fun drawing salon in Amsterdam!

The poses range from very short (1 minute) to medium-long (20 minutes). Martin plays thematic music on vinyl and guides you through the afternoon. Bring your own materials: a pencil and 20 sheets of paper is enough, but anything goes of course. Martin will bring thematic music on vinyl and will also teach you some tricks and methods – the more often you come, the better you’ll get! Beginners welcome.

Maggie Boogaart is choreografe en oprichter van ‘Paris Marais Dance School’, waar zij ook les geeft in onder meer Graham techniek.
Speciaal voor ons komt zij uit Parijs naar Amsterdam en gaat zij met een lang, slank en lenig lichaam poseren als ‘draak’ (of in ieder geval in dat thema – ze sprak met mij aan de telefoon over een ‘gouden pak’ en na de pauze als ‘Koningin van de nacht’. Ik heb haar zien optreden en tamelijk onmogelijke dingen zien doen – ik verwacht dat het een pittig en wild tekenmiddagje wordt! En net zo gezellig als altijd, met tips & tricks, een wedstrijdje waarbij je niet dure prijzen kunt winnen, en ongelooflijk goede muziek, die soms afleid en soms je tot concentratie dwingt. Reserveren is aanbevolen! En dat iederen dus de eigen tekenspullies mee moet nemen.
