MO BEDICK
Starting out in his childhood bedroom near Leiden, Maurijn ‘Mo’ Wieringa started Mo Bedick as his bedroom recording project. Inspirated by SPLASHH, DIIV and FIDLAR, the then 17 year old released his first demo EP ‘KFC Jones’. The release party featured the appearance of a five-piece band. Fast-forward, the band is now a 4 piece and is as far away from a solo project as possible.

Releasing their first studio EP ‘Sicko’ through Haarlem based label ‘Geertruida’.  The band was about to embark on a short Dutch tour & release their second EP, when COVID hit. The band took a short hiatus to focus on study and released ‘Jenki Business’ on their own ‘Insert Blank Records’ label during lockdown.

Their debut album ‘Whirligig’ was crafted together with the band’s producer and friend Arthur ‘Timbaland’ Vermeij. Vermeij, who built his own studio in Leiden, hosted the band for recording sessions over multiple months while still finishing his own producer’s degree at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague. During the lockdown, the band slept in the studio multiple nights, hosting dress up recording parties. 

On ‘Whirligig’ the band shows where they’ve been working on ever since the bedroom near Leiden. From a solo project to a full writing band where all the different musical interests of the band weaves together in a one-of-a-kind blend of genres. The band shifts more towards future-jazz and hip-hop, more complex chord progressions and further away from their original LA surf punk influences towards maturity. 

YAFFA
YAFFA introduceert een nieuw geluid. Op een radicale, slimme wijze worden genres door elkaar gegooid. YAFFA gaat los en maakt los. De band neemt een standpunt in onze huidige maatschappij door zijn gekte en onzinnigheid uit te drukken in haar muziek.

Sinds de oprichting van de band in 2022 heeft YAFFA een live-ervaring opgebouwd waar sinds twee maanden al menig publiek mee veroverd is.
