Witte Geit: A peaceful Mind…!?
Liberty Corbett creates folk music that lives in its own small world. You are out and about, and the world is filled with things and people and you start to feel this world of things and people is a little too much. So you slip away, down a staircase, through a narrow hallway. You find a small door.
Inside, there’s warmth, quiet, a soft floral smell. The light is golden and low. Gladness! Having found that room inside of a song!
Formerly the singer and composer for psychedelic folk band Chrysalis, Liberty performed at venues including Paradiso (supporting Personal Trainer) and sold out two release shows for the band’s 2024 double single Face to Face / Words of Wit. Her solo project keeps a similar dream-logic: gentle, textured, surreal – like an egg yolk, or an exceptionally pleasant public toilet.

Līva Dumpe is first and foremost a storyteller – tameless and impressionistic. Rooted in Latvian folk ritual and symbolism, her songwriting is catchy, yet the harmonic language and expansion of vocal possibilities leave you guessing at every turn. With a background in classical piano and jazz vocals, her music weaves stories through improvisation. Her debut album “Tālskatis”, alongside her quintet, was nominated for both Best Jazz Album and Best Debut Album at the Latvian music awards Zelta Mikrofons in 2025.
